StratoCruiser = Boeing 377

With Write_Light's recent ad collection,

Here are a few more Ad's featuring the Boeing 377.
It was designed after the successful WWII B-29 bomber, as seen below.

The 377 was one of the first aircraft to have a lower lounge and bar. Making it a double level aircraft.

Sadly none were saved.

A few were transformed into Super Guppies.

They would make bulbs tops to hold new aircraft for manufacturing and transportation.

Interestingly, when Airbus started production, Boeing's main competitor, it had to use Super Guppies. This meant that every Airbus was born out of a Boeing.

Re: gone
While it'd be nice to see one with an old airline interior and smooth nose, you can go see non-K C-97s all over the place at museums. Saw one just the other week:
From Pima Air and Space Museum - Pass 1
...not including the same museum's Super Guppy, etc, etc. I'm more miffed we don't have the XC-99 any more. Or one of the Constitutions. :)
Cool. I especially like the Pan Am ad for The President Special. I wish I could take that overnight flight to both Paris and London.
