Until the power goes out and then the time is:

12:00

12:00

12:00

12:00

12:00

12:00

The clocks with a battery backup were a huge improvement, because if the power went out in the night, it would hold the time until the power came back on. Unless you forgot to change the battery regularly or, as I found out the hard way in a hotel once, someone steals it. This probably cost about $80 when it came out, maybe $70 at Service Merchandise. How times and technology have changed.
It might be true, but I don't like ads listing things that are smarter than me. Could take a long time...
I haven't used a clock radio in a couple of years but until I stopped, this is the one I was using. It's in the drawer of the nightstand still, in case I ever have a need to get up Really Stupid Early.
I think my father used to have something like this. It looked complicated as heck.
