So, okay, let's say for a moment that I'm a 19th century consumer, I have no problem with the racist imagery, and I'm in the market for a wringer--just how am I supposed to interpret this ad? Is the wringer in the ad an Empire? If so, it looks kind of dangerous so maybe I should go for a different brand. Or is the "cue" that I should not buy an inferior brand like the Chinaman did and buy an Empire instead?

Aw, screw it. It's racist. It's vulgar. Moving on.

Those shoes are awesome! I've heard of round heels, but never round toes before.
