Weekend Event - Red Rose Tea

I couldn't let this event go by without a little national pride! Red Rose is a well known brand of tea in Canada. A different blend is sold in the US. In Canada, the tea is owned by Unilever. Red Rose was famous for it's premiums - little trading cards in the 60s and 70s that were brought back in the late 90s IIRC. Every Canadian of a certain vintage has at least one or two Wade figurines in their house somewhere. The figures fetch $6-8 a piece.

I've had Red Rose US tea - now I'm wondering how it compares to Canadian blend. How fun to have a figurine from way back when! Looking them up on ebay, it would have been great to own a little llama, back when I collected little china animals.
Oh yes, we had tons of those little animals :-) It's a good quality tea - right up there with Tetley. I drink Yorkshire Gold these days, however!
I used to work with an ex-Brit who would only drink Red Rose tea. I didn't realize there were different blends in Canada and the US. Somewhere I've still got some of the lil gypsum animals that came in each box.
