It seems that if/when Russia cuts its internet off from the rest of the world Friday, it'll probably take LJ with it. There 99% of suggestions of going to DW but that site is not user friendly, particularly for an image based community. I also, personally, never really liked DW. If you personally like it, that, of course, is great.
However, does anyone know of another blog type place we could move the community to? I am going to back up the archives, if it lets me (PLEASE let me!) Okay, after pausing to look, unless I export to another site, which I might not be able to due to site blockages, images might not transfer. Please let know if you find something, know of something, etc.
We have a domain LJ Vintage Ads and you HAVE to put the www. in front of the ljvintageads, it's on my friend's server. Please jot it down as if the site goes down, that is where I will keep y'all up to date on where I found to go, etc & it has my contact info for suggestions/ideas/etc
I am seriously essentially begging for any suggestions, other than DW, for our community.

ETA: I sent a support request asking if LJ would still be available to non-Russians if Russia closes their internet Friday. If I get an answer I'll obviously let you know.

I believe them. They will do what they can and they are just civilians caught up in Putin's madness. We still should plan on "worse case Ontario" as Ricky from the Trailer Park Boys would say.
ETA3: Just to have a backup, I AM trying to back us to DW. It's semi-working, first attempt 100% fail. Tried my own journal, everything transferred but journal entries--oh those aren't important! Eyeroll. Trying Vintage Ads again and again and again and again until I hopefully succeed. If we needed a temp home, then I guess that would it, til I can get us on wordpress, which seems like maybe the best option, tho there's storage issues with that site, I'll have to see if you can buy more or something.
ETA4: I got the info to log onto LJVintage Ads domain I have my contact info there and that's where I'll put info on where we 'are', etc.
