RIP Lisa Marie Presley
I remember where I was when the news came out Elvis had died. I was in shop on 4th St a couple blocks from my grandmothers' (they lived next door to each other) with my cousins. The store owner had a radio on and they cut into a song and announced it. Everyone in there, well adults, were in shock about it. When we got back to our grandmother's it was on TV and they were all in shock.
Now via Twitter I read Elvis' princess Lisa Marie passed away. Just a few weeks away from her 55th birthday. She wrote a song on her 2003 album called Lights Out about the family graves in that "damn back yard". Her son was buried there after his death a couple years ago, she wrote an essay on grief this past August. On what would've been Elvis' 88th birthday, January 8th, she was at Graceland to greet the fans.
I hope she's at peace and with her father and son.
I know this is for a 2004 tour; but the album came out in 2003. This might've came out in 2003? I couldn't find much. I'll report myself to the mod for a potential ad violation.
